These customers can be helped by the agency in two ways. Part of the agency specializes in designing and improving e-commerce apps and web applications. Another part specializes in designing and developing unique interactive in-app experiences that activate and motivate customers to also visit physical stores more often.
Due to the strong growth over the past year, the creative lead in this part of the organization has become increasingly busy. That is why people are now looking for a creative lead who will take over from him. The current creative lead on the in-app experiences won't leave all at once, you'll report to him and you'll be able to spar with him.
Come up with concepts
- Creating innovative in-app gamification concepts that connect digital and physical touch points
- Brainstorm and collaborate with the team to develop ideas that align with global retailers' goals.
- Analyzing market trends and user behavior.
- Development of concept sketches, mock-ups and prototypes as a basis for further development.
Pitch/present concepts
- Presenting concepts to customers in a convincing and inspiring way.
- Translating complex ideas into understandable visuals and stories that enthuse customers.
- Respond to customer feedback and incorporate it into an improved draft.
Realizing concepts
- Translating approved concepts into concrete designs and functionalities in the app.
- Act as a collaborating foreman/woman within the design team to deliver high-quality results.
- Coordinate the collaboration between the internal design team, external creative professionals and the 16 remote developers.
- Monitoring deadlines, quality and consistency during the realization process.
Digital leadership
- Managing and coaching a team of 4 creative designers (1 in-house, 3 remote) to get the best out of them.
- Creating an open and inspiring work environment.
- Ensuring seamless collaboration between designers and developers to efficiently realize concepts.
- Act as a point of contact for the team and customers throughout the entire process.
More than 50 employees work at this leading agency. The team that is involved in designing and developing the in-app experiences consists of around 30 employees. Part of this team is located in the Netherlands and part works nearshore from a location elsewhere in Europe.
The team includes a few directors (business, product, technical), four designers and 15+ developers. As a creative lead, you will therefore work with both designers and developers.
The designers are visual designers with a creative background, each with their own specialization.

- E-commerce experience.
