Initiate, develop and manage the Product Design team of a hypergrowth EdTech scale-up skyrocketing to be the next Dutch unicorn
This company's ambition, structure and (hyper) growth is probably the closest you'll get to work in a Silicon Valley scale-up without moving there. They are well funded and profitable. And everything they do, they do to become the next Dutch unicorn. They currently have 350+ employees who work in offices in 16 countries, while offices in 8 additional countries open up before the end of the year. They are headquartered in Eindhoven where 200+ of their employees are working.
Your responsibility will be to initiate, build, lead and manage the product design organisation and team. Your goals are; to create a research & data driven design culture; to increase the overall UX-maturity of the organisation and; to grow the product design team from 3 to about 30 fte. This is a really exciting role in a booming organisation where there is a lot to learn and gain.
Currently there are 3 design professionals who are working dedicated for a specific product team. And a researcher who is about to start, will be working for multiple development teams. But for you everything is open. You can restructure the research and design organisation how you wish.
You'll be reporting to the CPTO. You'll be collaborating with the Product Director, and with directors of the Marketing and the Content department. With marketing content and unique in-house educational content being produced in each of the 16 countries, it is important to align with each other.
This international scale-up is a hyper growing Silicon Valley type of organisation heading to be the next Dutch unicorn. Products, clients, workforce, everything is booming. Each year of being a director here will count as two or three years of being a director elsewhere.
You will get lots of autonomy. You will decide how research and design will be implemented in the organisation including guiding principles, organizational structure and team composition.
There are all kinds of exciting things going on in EdTech that will change the world for the better. As a Product Design Director at this international scale-up you will be contributing to this on a global scale.
- 3+ years of experience in UX/Product Design management roles
- 8+ years of experience as a UX/Product Design professional
- Experience implementing research & data driven design methods
- Experience building and developing UX/Product Design teams
- Experience managing other UX related disciplines or managing multidisciplinary individuals and teams
- Extensive knowledge of design processes
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
