Design tools to compare complex products and an intelligent My Environment that provides valuable insights

This organization helps consumers save on fixed costs by providing them with tools that help them compare complex products and services from different providers in a user-friendly way. The organization focuses on innovation and personalization, for example through features such as an energy consumption dashboard. There is a good dynamic, and people actively contribute ideas with employees. For example, there is a flexible arrangement for starting your working day earlier or later.
Your duties in this position will include:
Tasks Compare tools - This organization has (rate) comparison tools in various categories. You will help improve and optimize these tools. This mainly involves a lot of UI design, and it will be important that you have proven experience in balancing many different types of information and components in cards, for example. You will work with, among others, specialists from the 'markets' team. This is a team of professionals who are fully aware of all the ins & outs of pricing services and products in a specific market.
Tasks My Environment - This organization wants to be more than a platform where people come when they need to compare prices. That is why they are developing a My Environment that is so well put together that, based on the information that the customer enters, they can proactively provide valuable advice to the user. This My Environment and personalization are still in their early stages compared to the comparison tools. That's why it's important that you can help discover, develop, and validate valuable features for this. For the My Environment, it is therefore important that you have experience with interaction design and with validating new features.
Tasks Design System -You are the first in-house Product Designer of this organization, but not the first designer they work with. So you will have to read into the existing documents, as well as the design system. Improving and further developing this will be your responsibility.
There are three key teams in this organization:
Product team - This team, which you will be part of, is located partly in the Netherlands and partly in Romania. The team is responsible for maintaining and developing the comparison tools and developing an intelligent My Environment. The team includes 14 Developers in Romania, a Head of Product and 3 Product Owners in the Netherlands, and soon you will be the first in-house Product Designer! About once a quarter, there is the opportunity (not mandatory) to visit your colleagues in Romania.
Markets team - This team consists of Category Managers. They know everything about the rates and price structure of the specific markets in which this organization offers and will offer comparison and advice tools. So you are not alone, you will be working a lot with the Category Managers.
Marketing team - This team consists of different types of Marketing specialists. You will also work with them a lot, partly because, through campaigns they set up, users will enter the templates and flows that you design.
You are the first in-house Product Designer, and for now the only one, so that comes with the necessary responsibility. You get a lot of freedom when it comes to doing your work, so if you're the type of designer who likes this, you're probably in the right place.
What we like about this role is the diversity of activities. On the one hand, you are responsible for optimizing the existing comparison tools, in which the focus is mainly on UI design. Within cards with many possibilities, the correct use and use of components within them, and the visual relationship and relationships between those components, play an important role. The devil is in the details. On the other hand, you are responsible for designing intelligent features for the My Environment. Here, you will also face complex challenges when it comes to interaction design.
The Product team includes a Head of Product, 3 Product Owners and 14 Developers. The Developers are located in Romania. A few times a year, the Dutch part of the Product team visits them. You are part of the Product team, so you also get that opportunity. It is not mandatory, you can see for yourself whether you want to go or not.
